The following are excerpts of SDS Murallos’ key message to the DEXECOM:
ON TEACHERS’ WELFARE AND BENEFITS
Borrowing the words of Anne M. Mulcahy, our teachers are our greatest assets – our competitive advantage. If we want to attract and retain the best; then we need to provide them with encouragement, stimulus, and make them feel that they are an integral part of the DepEd’s mission. All teachers and school heads should feel welcomed every time they come to the Division Office. They are our MAIN CLIENTS. Let’s give them that welcoming service. Happy employees are productive employees.
ON DRRM-related concerns
At all times, the safety of learners and teachers should be the top priority of everyone. In times of calamities and impending disasters, the PSDS/DICs are expected to know more about the real situation in the ground, hence they should not hesitate to advise their respected school heads to cancel or suspend classes, especially for schools in high risk areas like schools located near riverbanks, landslide prone areas.School heads are empowered to suspend classes whenever they see fit and necessary. DUE DILIGENCE should always be observed by school heads and teachers in the exercise of their duty. The kind of diligence of a good father of a family to prevent damage – this is the only defense against liability.
ON TRANSFER OF TEACHERS
The Division Office will come up with a Division Guidelines and or Policy on the transfer of teachers for an objective and impartial transfer of teachers. Our ASDS is currently crafting the said policy for the DEXECOM’s comments and suggestions. END//lmgayas_minutes of meetings
