In response to the Secretary’s call for everyone—from the
central down to the regional, division, and school levels—to actively take part in promoting
the use of DepEd Manual of Styles (DMOS) and DepEd Service Marks and Visual Identity Manual (DSMVIM), the Division of Southern Leyte conducted its orientation on DMOS and DSMVIM to the Division Office Personnel, School Heads (SC) and School Information Officers (SIO) of IAD 1 today, February 20, 2020.
The DMOS sets the standards from grammar, punctuation, and formats to language use, organizational terms and references in all communication materials of the Department.
The DSMVIM, on the other hand, sets the visual standard in all DepEd communications, presentations, learning resources, advocacy
materials, citations and documentations and all other official collaterals.
The two manuals are product of years of research, consultation,
organization and validation spearheaded by the Public Affairs Service-Publications Division (PAS-PD).
Conforming to the rules of grammar, proper and legitimate use of the DepEd seal and logo will not only establish and build the Department’s identity and credibility to its partners and stakeholders, these manuals also institute and convey a unified DepEd identity that shall be recognized across all governance level—from the central to the regional, division
and school levels.
The DSMVIM and DMOS Project Management Team shall conduct another round of orientation for SCs and SIOs of IAD 4A and 4B on February 21, 2020 and IAD 3 and 2 on February 24, 2020.
